  1. Hey Jenn,
This was the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me. It requires a little background and is not exactly Valentine-ish, so bare with me. . . .
In the Fall, I got hooked on the “Cheerleaders” reality show on CMT about the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader (DCC) tryouts. After about the third show, I grew impatient and decided to go to the DCC website to see who made it.
I pulled up the team photo and was looking at the girls with their perfect bodies, hair, & faces and longing for the body I had 20 years ago (although it was never as nice as theirs.)
My five year old son climbed up in my lap, looked at the picture and said, “Wow! Which one are you, Mommy?”
    Sweetest thing ever!
    Happy Valentine’s Day
    Lots of Love,
    Barnie

  2. I think one of my favorite Valentines messages was this: I came home from school after teaching all day, knowing my husband was working late that night, and found the table set with our good dishes on a red tablecloth, flowers in a vase for a centerpiece, and a big note saying Happy Valentine’s Day. He had also thawed a package of strawberry daquiri mix in the fridge; I made it without the alcohol so that the kids could partake, too. The meal? I think it was macaroni and cheese, honestly. But it felt like a party.

  3. The sweetest Valentines ever was when my husband had to go away for a couple days. While I was at work, before he left, he had written a note and surrounded it by candles in the shape of a heart. The note said “don’t eat the flowers!” I thought what? to myself and searched the apartment for flowers. Finally, I looked in the freezer and there was a carvel ice cream cake with a sticky note that said don’t eat until I come back. The cake was my “flowers” because he knew how much I love ice cream cakes and he couldn’t get me flowers because our cat would eat them. It was really sweet. 🙂

  4. My hubby wrote “I LOVE YOU” on the fogged over bathroom mirror while I was in the shower. It was a sweet and nice surprise to step out of the shower and see that.

    Count me in please.

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  5. The sweetest “message” is when my husband gives me a red rose for each year we have been together, each Valentine’s Day. I love our little tradition, it melts my heart.

Thanks, i hope I win- and please stop by mine, too!

  6. The best Valentine I got was when dh and I were dating. He came to the door with 3 long stemmed red roses and said they meant I love you (1 rose for each word). Then looked at me and said that 3 roses weren’t enough, so instead he gave me 3 dozen roses! A dozen per word!

  7. My husband is abou tas unromantic as they get, but one year he wrote me a poem. Sure it wasnt award winning notes, but the gesture was priceless to me. I framed them (there were two). He also bought me some welch’s grape juice, again not romantic to all, but he knew how much I love it and that’s waht really counts. He is the best husband. He cares for me and my children and works hard. To me-the husband he is is the most romantic thing about him.

Hope I win. I love it!

  9. THe sweetest valentines message I ever got was from my Hubby the 1st valentines we were together. It was written in a card and it was so heartfelt and sweet. It was very personal so I don’t want to pu it here…but I hope it still counts.

  10. My husband always tells me how beautiful I am even when I am hugely pregnant (like right now) and he writes things like “You are the mother of my children. You mean the world to me. All my love to you and our little growing family.” It doesn’t get better than that!

Thanks for such a generous giveaway. Would LOVE to win! Lisa 🙂

    Thanks again!

  12. The first one is the better email but either will work.

  13. I left home for Valentine’s weekend a couple years ago, volunteering with a youth group. My husband wrote me a letter and gave it to my friend to give to me. I was shocked. My husband doesn’t write letters or get really mushy. In the 9 years we’ve been married I had never read such a sweet letter let alone from my husband who really doesn’t show a lot of emotion. At the end of the letter he wrote “sei grande” in Italian (which we both speak) he was referring to an Eros song that I love. It translates, “your the best” – I couldn’t help but be moved to tears. It moments like these that remind us why we love.

  14. Some years ago, before I became a SAHM, I was a teaching assistant in a second grade classroom. They were second graders with leaning disabilities and behavior disorders. I worked with N. who was epileptic after falling out of a grocery cart as a toddler. He would try to use his illness to get out of his school work! N. did experience some small seizures and a grand mal seizure during the school year.
He and I would have to go round and round on many times for him to get his work done. I had to remember he was there to learn. Well, the Valentine’s Day Party came around and I knew I had a very slim chance of receiving anything from N. To my utter surprise, he gave me a card with his signature in the best penmanship he was capable of. He passed away in his late teens from a brain surgery gone wrong. I still have his card…..Thanks,Cindi

  15. Sweetest message? Well, it actually was from an ex-boyfriend. SHH, don’t tell my DH! :)Anyhoo, my ex once gave me a card(not v-day) and he wrote that he never believed in destiny until he crashed into my car. Yep, that’s how we met. He rear ended my car! DH isn’t very romantic but he’s a great hubby & dad.

  16. The sweetest thing anyone ever said to me on Valentine’s Day was, “I do!” 21 years ago! 🙂

  17. One Valentine’s Day my hubby gave me a plastic bubble heart and inside there was a bunch of little papers and on each paper he wrote something he loved about me. I was to open the heart and read one paper a day.(there was one for everyday of the year!) It was so sweet and meant more to me than anything he ever could have bought me.

  18. Two years ago my boyfriend was out of town at his brother’s wedding on Valentine’s day and I thought I wouldn’t get to see him until the next day. Then just as I was getting off work I got a call from my sis saying that my dorm bathroom was flooding. So I rushed over there and there was towels up against the bathroom door. My sis told me to look in tosee how bad it was, so I did and there was Kevin holding a HUGE teddy bear and a dozen roses! It was perfect and I was so surprised. He took me out after that too!

Ok…so it’s not a valentine’s day messge, but you have to admit it’s a pretty sweet thing he did 🙂

  19. we don’t have alot of money but my husband always comes up with a cute little candle lit dinner at home…

  20. How cool is this, I understand wanting them yourself, but alas, I too will give them to my girls.

  21. I am posting this because I am not sure if my first one worked ?
All valentines days are wonderful, but this year should be the best. My hubby is taking me to dinner, no the whole family just me! And we get a real date! I am so looking forward to this.

  22. would love to win
sweetest message would be i love you forever sweetheart.
what makes it so sweet was my husband was in iraq at the time. he ordered flowersonline and put that message in them. it was so sweet that he could do that for me, even though his mind is suppost to be focused on the war

  23. A few years back when I was in my early 20s and Valentines Day was hard due to being a single girl, I received a Valentine from a friend of mine that said “On behalf of all the men who don’t yet know that you exist and would be sending these themselves if they did, I wanted to wish you a Happy Valentines Day. It was so sweet! It helped me have a better attitude about the holiday.

  24. Our first Valentine’s together, my husband made me the best card I’ve ever gotten. He’s not the artsy-crafty type and I know it took him a long time to make. He had a cut out version of himself with a big red heart in the center. I still have it and smile when I think of the time he put into a simple gesture.

  25. My sweetest valentines are anything that my boys have given me.

  26. Last Valentine’s Day my kids colored cards for me and dictated the messages. I liked them better than any other other cards I have ever gotten.

  27. my bf said to me, “you are a very beautiful woman.” He’s too sweet!

  28. One year my husband and I were totally, and I mean totally broke. He actually looked under the car seats for change and bought me my favorite candy bar. (Heath)

  29. I had a boy bring me Strawberry Shortcake scratch and sniff stickers in grade 4. He came to the door of the classroom, and passed them to me without saying anything, just smiling. It was a pretty sweet message, without a word!!

  30. I was in second grade a new boy (he just joined the class a few weeks earlier) who was learning english made me a personal valentine That read “You sweett. I lik you lot Moreen” Would have been perfect if he had got my name right! I remember his last name was Brown and he was so shy when he gave it to me.

  31. my DH was ina welding class at the local college and he made mem a rose out of the scrap metal for me.
THose fruit roll up are the coolest thing ever.

  32. I’m whispering sweet fruit roll up nothings in your ear. No, wait. I got some in your hair. Hold on . . . I’ll brush it out . Oh, I didn’t mean to pull out that chunk of hair. Hold on! I’m sorry!

Okay, maybe not the sweetest thing you’ve heard, but how is that for a mommy pleading for a box for a kid for Valentine’s Day treats, eh?

    🙂

  33. My baby’s handprint in red paint… sweeter than anything. Thanks for the contest!

  34. Once for Valentine’s Day I rented some time on one of the lighted signs for one of the hotels along the major highway here in towm. It read Happy Valentine’s Day to my Honey Bunny Hero Prince knight in Shining Armor.

  35. These are SO cool – I love them. As for the question, I would have to say that it reading the card that my husband sent me because it was the identical card I had picked out for him – I guess great minds think alike! Thanks for the giveaway!

  36. Every Valentine’s Day my girls wake up to find streamers and decorations in their room and notes about how special they are and why. I started this tradition to avoid buying a lot of candy and sweets, and they look forward to it every year!

  37. Well, one year, just a short little month and a half after I gave birth to my third child, my husband gave me an entire work out outfit for aerobics. For Valentine’s Day. Yes, he called me a fat cow for Valentine’s Day. He swears that is not what he meant by giving me that outfit, but I was a month and a half post partum and already felt super fat and wanted to join aerobics to get back in shape.
I tried working out at home because I had nothing to wear, but the kids, just stricken by the sight of me doing something besides sitting on the couch eating bon-bons, would cling to my legs screaming with each step I took! I was not in that good of shape for that work out!
So, he was actually being sweet and giving me something to wear to work out in so I could go to classes when we really didn’t have the money to splurge like that. He has taken a lot of grief over that gift 15 years ago. But it was actually really kind of him to look for what I really wanted in my life instead of going for candy or jewelry. He was thinking of ME!

  38. My then-fiance (now husband) gave me a bouquet of roses. One had the center cut out so that a tiny box would fit in the middle. It contained a beautiful,heart-shaped ring

  39. In college I was dating an aviation major. I came back from class to find he’d decorated my dorm room door, ;eaving me clues to where to go for our date. The clues led me to the airport where he had a rose with a note attached. The note said “with you, my heart takes wings” and our date was dinner in another city–he’d rented a plane to fly me there himself!

  40. The most special Valentine’s message a have every recieve was from my Grandm when I was little. She gave me milk chocolate shaped in the words “I Luv U” It always made me feel so special and love by her!
    Thanks for the coool contest.

  41. On our first Valentine’s Day together, we had been married 6 months, and my husband sent me 6 white roses (the flower of our wedding) and a note that said one special flower for each of the months we have been married, and a dozed red roses with them, just because.

  42. 12 years ago, my hubby and I were 16 and it was our first valentine’s day and he suprised me with a big cute stuffed dog on the seat of his car. My kids still cuddle with it today.

  43. My dh and I have been together for 15 yrs. so romance has went out the window lol. Well, in the middle of the night a few months ago he sent me a text of a heart. It was so out of the blue and unexpected. He should have been alseep because he has to get up very early but he knew that I was up with our youngest. I know it doens’t sound like much but it was huge to me. Thank you!

  44. Please enter me. I would love to win this!

The best Valentine’s I’ve ever gotten were from my dad. He’s my ’step-father’ but he raised me since I was a small child and has always been my Daddy. We had a rocky time when I was a teenager because he just didn’t understand me – a bookish girl. He’s very quiet and was never overly affectionate or loose with words. Thats why when I get a simple card with “I Love you Taryn, Dad” written inside it means the world to me. When he says “I love you” his voice changes and I know he really really means it. I have the best daddy in the world.
